PROJECT PARK!

It's been nearly a year now since work started on the first stages of Project Park! and what a journey it has been.

No sooner had the construction crew arrived on site, the weather decided it was going to be one of the wettest autumns and winters on record, causing all sorts of problems getting the new MUGA and footpaths completed but, hey, they did it and now it's all looking good.

We are delighted to announce that we are now ready to start the second, and most exciting, phase of the project.

In early October, work will commence on bringing the new play areas and Community Garden to life. We will see a total transformation of our play area near the brook and a completely new play area for very small children will be created near the War Memorial; to top it off, a new Community Garden will be built to the side of the pavilion.

We can't put an exact time limit on how long it will all take because of our old friend the weather, but we are hoping that it will be completed by the end of the winter. It will mean that for a time there will be no play equipment and there will inevitably be some disruption whilst the work is being carried out. We're sure that you will understand and know that it will be worth it in the long run.

Watch this space for regular updates; we will let you know exactly when work will begin and keep you informed of what is going to be done and when.

For 2025, the new play areas on the Memorial Park will be a great destination for the young people of Sileby, and a pleasant space for grown-ups, too.
