Remembrance Day - Sunday 10th November 10:30
It's that time of year again when we turn our thoughts to remember and give our most sincere thanks to all of those brave people who have served our country in times of conflict.
We especially pay tribute to all who paid the ultimate sacrifice by losing their lives, so we might live in peace and freedom for ever more. We hope that, by their sacrifice, we never again have to rely on so few to do so much.
As part of our tribute to the fallen of the conflicts in modern history, we have created a simple tableau in Martins Walk, in the centre of the village where we can visit, either as individuals or as a family to pay homage, reflect and give thanks for the freedoms that we take for granted. If you visit after dark, the trees are lit in poppy red lights to create a restful, respectful atmosphere. The display will be in place until Saturday, 9th November; we do hope you will take a look.
On Sunday, 10th November the annual Remembrance Service will take place on Sileby Memorial Park by the War Memorial from 10.30am, everyone is welcome.
